Pilot Immigration Programme

Pilot Immigration Programme

Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot

The prime objective of the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot is to induct fresh, skilled employees as immigrants from minor societies.

The federal immigration pilot is designed for five years to assist the minor societies with aging inhabitants and labor insufficiencies, which work hard to entice and hold new immigrants.

It is a community-driven program that aims to widen the advantage of immigration, and in this way, small communities also contribute to the economy of the country and get their share.

To be involved in the pilot, societies must:

  • Have a population of 50,000 or less and be situated at least 75 km from the center of a census metropolitan area, OR.
  • It has an population of up to 200,000 individuals and is considered far-flung from other greater cities, according to the Statistics Canada Remoteness Index data.

  2. Search for an appropriate job with an employer in one of the contributing societies (listed underneath).
